recently rescued two premarin foals, unfortunately there are
still thousands of foals going to slaughter. The goal of this
foundation is the prevention of cruelty to animals by educating
the public of the inhumane treatment given to mares and foals,
which are the by-product of this multi-million dollar a year
industry, PREMARIN. Pregnant mares used for production are
confined to narrow tie stalls where they cannot turn or lie
down for weeks at a time, without any release for exercise.
The time taken to unhook the mares from the urine collection
harness for regular exercise would decrease the profits of
this $800,000,000 a year industry.
There are approximately 500 Premarin Farms that exist in
the United States and Canada. These Farms produce over 60,000
Foals a year. It is heartbreaking to witness these Foals being
taken from their mothers at the tender age of 12 to 16 weeks
old, in early September and sold by the pound to meat packers
for slaughter.

These foals are exhausted from the trauma of the auctions
and are taking a nap |

From October to March, these pregnant mares stand in barns
like this. Their only exercise is one hour each week |
If you take PREMARIN you contribute to the death of thousands
of innocent Foals that are the by-product of this drug. Please
tell your Doctor to prescribe one of the following alternatives:
CENESTIN by Duramed, CLIMARA by Berlex, ESTRACE by Mead/Johnson,
ESTRATAB by Solvay, OGEN by Upjohn, Ortho-EST by Ortho-Mcneil,
PROVERA by Upjohn, ESTINYL by Sherine, ESTRADREM by Ciba.
